The Portrait Gallery of Canada project will be an important tourist attraction and add international prestige and importance to Edmonton's cultural core. It will also feature first class resources, training and staff providing a strong educational component and historical expertise to the community.

The Alberta Government has pledged $40 million in support of a successful bid to bring the Portrait Gallery of Canada to Alberta. Qualico's bid also enjoys enthusiastic support from Mayor Stephen Mandel and the Edmonton Arts Community.

Qualico's vision is to provide a dramatic and innovative design reflecting the importance and uniqueness of this project within a highly attractive setting.
