Qualico is excited to be submitting a proposal to bring the Portrait Gallery of Canada to Downtown Edmonton.  Located across from Edmonton's City Hall in Qualico's Station Lands project, this gallery will be another important addition to Downtown Edmonton's Arts District joining the winspear Centre, Art Gallery of Alberta, Citadel Theatre, Edmonton Public Library and Sir Winston Churchill Square.

The Portrait Gallery of Canada houses the second-oldest national portrait collection in the world.  Libraries and Archives Canada has been collecting since 1872 and possesses a world class, priceless collection.  This portrait gallery will entice a wide demographic audience and offer unique opportunities to visitors to view and understand our nation's complex heritage.
